We’ve always had a love for camping, the outdoors, and the peace it brings—something we craved more of after years of busy city life in Liverpool. As our children grew up and started their own families, we realised it was time to chase the dream we’d talked about for years: starting our own glamping site.

We sold our home, moved onto a friend’s farm, and began the search for the perfect place. The moment we found this old quarry tucked into the Welsh woodland, we knew it was right. We fell in love with the peaceful surroundings and the idea of creating a place where others could come to relax, rewind and recharge—just like we had always needed ourselves.

As parents, we’d always looked for ways to give our children countryside experiences—escaping the noise of the city, exploring nature, and enjoying simple moments. Even after they outgrew holidays with us, we never lost that love of getting away and finding calm.

Wildwood Quarry Retreat was born from those experiences, and it’s been our greatest joy to share this special place with our guests. Some come for the sights, others never leave the site at all—and that’s exactly how we designed it. When people tell us they feel completely relaxed or come back for another visit, we know we’re doing something right.
